Thank you so much for responding and I’m more than happy to fill in the gaps for you. “Note To Self” is a book that will be published on one of Random House’s many platforms later this year. My first deadline for half of the book is May 25th and at that point, they’ll decide which platform is the best fit, depending on how it reads. As of now, it has a few target audiences so it’ll take a few more weeks to pinpoint which platform is best. A late summer publication date is the goal.
I want every woman that decides to contribute to know that they are in very careful and competent hands. I’ve been an entertainment writer for various outlets for 25 years now and my absolute goal at this point is to always produce something (whether a straight interview or this project) that reflects well on both of us. I want you to be able to take my pieces and use them to promote yourself in a positive way.
I can also tell you that my goal for this book is to really dip into many genres of music and also some of the faces and voices that have covered it. Everyone’s personal growth and experiences are different and I welcome various perspectives. One chapter for each woman and it will literally read as a personal note from her (of course final approval from that person is necessary). I’m simply listening and pulling their thoughts together for them. In the end, I’ll have written the forward and done all of the literal footwork, but it’s not my story at all.
I know that putting your self in the hands of a stranger has to be a daunting task. I can offset that by telling you that women like Jody Watley, Nancy Wilson, Nina Blackwood and Sarah Mclachlan all have interviews scheduled within the next 2 weeks. If Martha decides to contribute, she’ll be in wonderful company.
